WWPNA - Site Redevelopment
West Washington Park Neighborhood Association (WWPNA) has had several websites over the years. Early in 2006 I began discussions with their Communications team to help update their website. One consistent problem with the site was making it easy enough for board members to add their own information. The group is primarily volunteer based with varying levels of computer savvy. Our main goal was to make a site that was easy for the Board members to update. Along the way we also cleaned up some of the old content and added updated functionality like a calendar.
Redevelopment included
- keeping the look and feel as similar as possible to the old site
- distribute editing so that all board members can edit the site
- shared calendar with categorized content
- subscription alerts so members can get the updates "pushed" to them
- various specific permission levels to control the content
- online guidebook
